New plein air challenges!

New plein air challenges!
As soon as I reached Norwich there was a huge downpour! I headed for the market hoping to find a sheltered spot, eventually sharing an alley with a group of friendly builders who agreed I wouldn't be in the way! I had a reasonable view but the rain continued to soak both myself and my easel set up.I decided to sketch in pencil until the rain abated but as there was no sign of this happening eventually I started to lay in watercolour. An interesting experience followed with paint applied and then washed off by the rain; Much to the amusement of the builders and other passers by. At around noon the sun started to break through and I tried to begin to bring back some lost edges and colour! A kind friend brought me a cup of tea and by then I was well and truly finished! A quick warm up with coffee and ciabatta in North and the I set off in search of another opportunity. At the bottom of Elm Hill lies a little Barbers which has a beautiful facade which I have admired and photographed in the past. It has a gorgeous canopy and bicycles so this was my chosen spot!! I had a lovely time for a couple of hours but after my soaking in the morning I began to shiver so had to complete early before making my way up to the meeting point at the Hostry in the Cathedral. My morning work was still soaked through so a flash of inspiration found me drying it under the hand dryer in the ladies!! At least I had my two pieces from Tuesday to add to my three from Monday!!!
